This blog post will explore the changes the College Board has made to the SAT.

First, they decided to no longer offer subject tests. Subject tests were an opportunity for a student to only take a specific section of the SAT in order to improve that score. This was helpful to students who only needed to work on one section as opposed to retaking the entire exam.

Second, the college board is discontinuing the SAT essay portion. The essay portion was optional but the results of the English and Writing sections proved it unnecessary. These changes are being made to benefit students and adapt to the changing academic world.
